Where would you find a computer on a farm? Well, there are actually lots of them, and many are in places that might surprise you!
The Internet of Things (IoT) has helped farmers solve lots of problems. From knowing when a tank is leaking water, to figuring out how much water is ending up on plants, to automatically feeding cattle at the correct times of the day; IoT helps farmers to understand what is happening on their properties.
IoT can also find out information about the soil quality that their crops are growing in, or even estimate how many berries are going to grow on a vine. This can make farmers and their farms smarter and more efficient; meaning that they can grow more food with less energy.
In this video you’ll meet Dr Fiona Kerslake from Bitwise Agronomy and Richard Gardner from Annandale who will speak about how they use IoT to make their farms smarter.
