Did you know that, most of the time, there are computers all around us?
Whether you're in a home, on a farm, or in a city, chances are that there are computers nearby, working to make our lives a bit better. You can find computers in objects like cars, aeroplanes, doorbells, weather stations, irrigators, and traffic lights. Often, these computers are collecting data that helps people to understand how the world works, and sometimes computers are even used to make systems automatic, so people don't need to do much at all!
We often refer to this network of computers sensing and automating things all over the world as the Internet of Things, or IoT for short.
